Waiting Period!
There is no
waiting period when you apply for a Tennessee
marriage license.
You can apply for your licensed and be married
the same day.
No
Blood Tests!
No blood tests or medicals are required
when applying for a Tennessee marriage
license.
You
must be at least 18 years of age.
Both parties must present either a Valid
Driver's License or
a Certified Birth Certificate. If you are not
a US Citizen, you will need to
present a Valid Passport. If your social
security number is not shown
on your Driver's License, you must bring your
Social Security Card with you.
Once
you apply, the marriage application is good
for a period of 30 days.
If you are not married within the 30 day
period, it will be necessary for you to
reapply for a Tennessee marriage license.
If
you have been divorced and taken back your
Maiden Name
and your current driver's license does not
reflect your Maiden Name,
it will be necessary for you to bring your
Divorce Decree indicating
the name change before you can apply for a
Tennessee marriage license.
You
may apply for your TN marriage license at any
Courthouse in Tennessee.

of State Applicants: $45.00 at Sevier

if you apply at any other county in Tennessee,
the cost is $105.00
Tennessee Residents: If
Tennessee residents complete a
4-hour marriage counseling class held by a
qualified counselor,
the cost for the license is $45.00,
otherwise the cost is $105.00
